Longest Day 2022…a great turnout!

We were so pleased with the support of our community for the fund-raising efforts on The Longest Day!

Our generous Membership raised over $6700!

 

This was truly a group effort by so many, including, but not limited to:

• Our Stars and their bidders who raised $2665
• Our game day players who filled 21 tables, generating entry fees of $840
• Paula Wissman, who waived her director's fees 
• Sandi Mills, our event photographer
• Karen Jones, who coordinated the catering
• Sally Knight, who chaired the event
• Clear Lake Bridge Club, which provided breakfast and lunch
 
Last, but not least, our wonderful Members who made contributions totaling $3,200!

The Open Game features our annual 'Star Auction'! Some of our best players have volunteered to 'auctioned off' for the morning game. Will you 'pay to play' with one of our Stars?  

The Auction is conducted via Bid Sheets posted at the Club.  Bid Sheets will be posted on June 8th...and finalized with the last bid at 2:00PM on Monday, June 20th.  Bid often and high😂!

Another element of our Fundraising Effort is that Game Fees - both the Open and 199er games - on June 22nd will be $10.00 per person.

ALL funds raised donated to the Alzheimer's Association.

Additional donations are welcomed and can be made by checks:

  • Dropped off at the club between now and June 22nd
  • Turned in on Game Day at the club

Participate!

Alzheimer's is a tragic condition that affects a growing number of people.  In addition to the stricken, family and friends struggle to provide aid to their Loved One.  The Alzheimer's Association has been working diligently to find treatments for this disease.  

 

ACBL has identified the Alzheimer's Association as an effort 'close to our hearts'.  Our Nationwide Membership has become the largest single contributor to their efforts.

 

Again this year, CLBC will organize a club effort to raise funds.  We are offering several options for your participation:

 

• Bid in our Silent Auctions to play with one of our club’s most experienced members, who are our Stars in our Longest Day Event at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 22.
• Play in person with your favorite partner in our Longest Day game.  Entry fees on this day will be $10 per person and the entire amount will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Please consider adding a contribution to your entry fee.
• Even if you will be out of town or will otherwise be unable to attend our event, you can contribute by writing a check payable to the Alzheimer’s Association.  The check may be presented at the club or can be mailed any time up to June 22rd to:

• Invite your friends and family to join in our fundraising efforts.  Ask them to make their checks payable to the Alzheimer’s Association and present them at the club or mail to Tomi Porterfield at the above address.
